When a president does it, it's not against the law

  1. I don't agree with Nixon just because you're the president doesn't mean breaking into offices and stealing private information. I think what he did was way worse then what Clinton did

  2. Following the law of the land is a defining characteristic that separates presidents from dictators.

  3. A president is just like everyone, all people are created equal. But not all people are treated equal, just because he is a president he is not above the law . A president might think he is above the law but the law still applies to him. Just because he has secret service that does still not prevent him from commiting a crime. It might be a deturent but not stop all crimes he might commit in or out of office.

  4. Brianne and Ricky: Good posts...I particularly liked Rick's insight into the president's responsibility to uphold the law. Keep thinking about things and post at will

  5. The president is not above the law. He is to show and set an example we are all to follow. The constitution states that all people are created equal. Race, sex, and power are no exceptions for this law. To a democracy this resets the rules so it's no longer the people's nation it is now a dictatorship. One man set's expectations, rules, and loopholes. Germany was wrong with Hitler and our country was wrong with Nixon.

  7. i agree with josh the president is not above the law. he needs to know what his place is. that he has power but not so much that he can do what ever he wants. I think Nixion a weird president he was so worried that someone was going to take the presidence away from him when he already had it. Ehen he was in office he should have done what he had sent out to do in the firsr place and he could have been president longer
